Brea Heidelberg, Ph.D

Brea Heidelberg has joined the Entertainment & Arts Management program as an Assistant Professor and Associate Program Director. She is an arts management consultant and researcher who teaches both theory and practice together in her classroom. She is a board member of the Association of Arts Administration Educators and currently serves as Co-Chair of Americans for the Arts’ Emerging Leaders Council. She is also on the editorial board of the American Journal of Arts Management. Her current research focuses on human resources issues facing small and mid-sized nonprofit arts organizations and matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the field.

In her consulting work, she helps organizations develop inclusive recruitment, hiring, and retention practices – including assessment and alterations to organizational culture and structure. She also creates and facilitates workshops for organizations wishing to create or update their equity statements and plans. Prior to joining us, Brea taught arts administration at Rider University where she was also Director of the Multicultural Studies program.
